Chord Company has been one of the mainstays of the Real Music Company’s line-up for the last couple of decades. Based in Amesbury, near Stonehenge in England, Chord Company has been quietly designing and making the pieces that connect your system together to unleash the music. Cables have always been regarded as an afterthought and while we are all about keeping it commensurate with the level of system, the power of a properly-terminated, clean-sounding cable is not to be underestimated.
Perhaps our favourite aspect of Chord Company’s cable design is that all of the innovation, from Ohmic plugs to Taylon shrouds, is designed to get in the way as little as possible - in theory, all that is left is the music, which is definitely something we can get behind!
We have always enjoyed Chord Company’s engaging, revealing interconnects and speaker cable and recently they embarked upon a new frontier – the ethernet cable. The first cable to hit the market, the C-stream was an instant hit with our streaming-based customers and they have subsequently released a model for all their cable ranges.
Recently Chord Company also released their first piece of electronics under the English Electric nameplate. The 8switch is set to continue their work in making sure that the digital signal is as ‘clean’ and uninterrupted as possible. We have auditioned these in-store we definitely encourage anyone interested to get in touch with your local Real Music Company branch to arrange a demonstration.
