High-End Show, Vienna, June 4 to 7, 2026

We dispatched one of our Hi-Fi Loving Experts to the annual High End Hi-Fi Show in Vienna earlier this month. With over 1000 brands featured, he focused on the brands that our stores carry, as well as some that have caught our eye for the future 😉

Fyne Audio from Scotland showcased its new Cubitt compact wireless bookshelf speaker, featuring proprietary technology that delivers fantastic sound and suits smaller spaces or home offices. Expect more details on Cubitt soon.

Chord Electronics had put together a terrific-sounding system that included the Ultima pre-amplifier, Ultima 3 power amplifier, new Quartet upscaler, and new Ultima phonostage. You may already know that Chord Electronics features in the World’s top recording studios – in fact, most of the music and movies you love will have been recorded using Chord equipment!  

SPOT, the new floor standing loudspeaker by FinkTeam, is named for the beloved cat of Commander Data from the Star Trek universe. These elegant beauties were so captivating that I visited their demo room three times for extended listens. 

Our house brand for cables, Chord Company from England, had cleverly created a calm listening room with a well-set-up system for impressive comparison demos. I revisited a few times during the show and each time there were no empty seats – that’s thanks to their team’s demonstration skills, not to mention their intriguing playlists. 

Quadraspire, our long-standing partner for Hi-Fi racks, celebrates its 30th birthday this year. Their elegantly designed ranges seamlessly blend style and function, enhancing any home interior, and are available in all our shops and online.  

We’re enhancing our portfolio of turntable brands, and I have to say that I didn’t hear any that compare to our new Auris Audio and Gold Note options.
 
Speaking of Turntables, when you need a new or upgraded cartridge, look no further than Skyanalog's range. This Chinese company, led by a delightful father-and-son team, manufactured for other well-known brands for decades and launched its own brand in 2019. At this show, they launched the new 3D Ref Cartridge, which features a Diamond coil former, cantilever and stylus. Charles Kirmuss is the genius behind our new record restoration system, the Kirmuss Audio RC-1, and he demonstrated his new Compact Cassette Tape Cleaning Machine. It’s a beauty!
