Poise and Power: The AVM CS 6.3 Compact Streaming CD Receiver

As the “New Kid in Town”, I’m taking time to learn about the brands and products that The Real Music Company stocks. First up is AVM. At the heart of the unit lies a powerful Class D 2 x 500W amplifier, providing sufficient power to drive even the most demanding speakers with ease. Multi-room functionality allows you to utilise this as the core of a central system, with smaller AVM units in other areas of the house. 

Setting it up was incredibly simple – connect to the network via a wired LAN connection (Wi-Fi is also supported), download the RC X Control app (an optional remote control is available, but it’s not necessary), and you’re ready to go. The small details, such as the Phase LED that ensures the mains polarity is correct, are nice touches that elevate the CS6.3 above the norm. 

Listening to a variety of music through CDs and streaming, the CS6.3 exhibits control, composure, and smoothness, presenting the music with clarity and warmth. It does not impose any character on the music but rather allows it to flow effortlessly in a manner that many people will find highly appealing.
