EverSolo - DMP-A8 - Music Streamer, DAC & Preamplifier

The EverSolo DMP-A8 combines a Music Streamer, Digital Audio Player, DAC & Pre-Amplifier with analogue inputs. The DMP-A8 takes the concept that started with the DMP-A6 and expands on it in almost every way.

The new DMP-A8 features a fully balanced analogue audio circuit with RCA and XLR analogue inputs and +10dB analogue gain helped by the R2R Advanced Analogue Volume Control Circuit composed of precision resistors and relays.

The DMP-A8 features the AKM AK4499EX and AK4191EQ Digital-Analog Separation DAC solution. A concept under the name Velvet Sound | Verita, rooted in the idea of "perfect re-creation of the original sound", it is dedicated to providing the most authentic sound and offering the listener an immersive acoustic experience. The DMP-A8 also features dual ACCUSILICON Femto clocks as found in the DMP-A6 Master Edition, and dual power supplies - a dedicated linear power supply for the analogue circuit and a high-performance low noise digital power supply for the digital board.

Elsewhere, the DMP-A8 gets additional digital inputs in the form of two Toslink optical ins, two coaxial RCA ins, and a dedicated HDMI ARC port. In addition to the digital outputs is a dedicated HDMI IIS port. The DMP-A8 also sports a 3rd generation XMOS 316 audio processor for faster and higher USB bandwidth ensuring lossless transmission of high-definition audio data.

Self-Developed EOS Audio Engine

EOS (Eversolo original sampling-rate) audio engine is developed by Eversolo engineers, with the support of outputting original sampling rate, that is, audio playback completely bypasses the Android SRC restriction, supporting the direct audio output of third-party apps (Apple Music hi-res Direct output).

Hi-Res Audio & Master Recording Decoding

The DMP-A8 is Hi-Res Audio certified by JAS, which equates to guaranteed superior sound quality.  Almost all ultra-high sampling master recording formats are supported by DMP-A8, including CD-quality formats (FLAC, WAV, APE), DSD512 (.dsf/.dff/.iso/.dst) stereo/multichannel and MQA. MQA (Master Quality Authenticated) technology enables you to play back MQA audio files and streams, delivering the sound of the original master recording.

Digital Filters

The DAC setting of the DMP-A8 provides six digital filters with different modes corresponding to different sound characteristics, to meet a huge range of personal preferences and physical spaces.

The DMP-A8 incorporates a robust DSP processor that supports DSP volume control, PEQ, FIR Filter, HPF/LPF, Loudness Enhancement, Compression, and Delay.

Dual Accusilicon Femtosecond Clock Processing

Low-jitter high-precision dual Accusilicon Femtosecond clocks are integrated into the DMP-A8. Two high-precision crystal oscillators effectively reduce jitter and achieve more precise audio decoding.

3rd Generation XMOS 316 Audio Processor

With a 3rd generation XMOS 316 audio processor, the DMP-A8 has faster speed and higher USB bandwidth, ensuring the lossless transmission of high-definition audio data. The USB port supports DSD512 Native, PCM768kHz/32bit and MQA full decoding. The Optical and Coaxial ports support DSD 64 (DOP), PCM192kHz/24Bit. 

Fully Balanced Preamp Circuit

The DMP-A8 analog circuit adopts a fully balanced design from DAC chip to the XLR and RCA stereo output. It provides better noise immunity and improves channel separation by eliminating shared loops for stronger and more consistent signal quality. It also features a +10dB analog game and, when combined with the R2R analog volume control network, ensures ultra-low noise and distortion for the output.

R2R Volume Control Circuit

A fully balanced analog volume adjustment network composed of precision resistors and relays achieves accurate volume control, effectively suppressing distortion and noise in the analog signal. It also features volume protection, automatically reducing excessive volume to the designated safe level during startup or input interface switching. The incorporation of R2R analog volume control ensures that the DAX can operate at its optimal state continuously.

Qualcomm QCC5125 Bluetooth Module

Connect mobile phones, tablets, laptops, and other compatible devices to the DMP-A8 via Bluetooth for seamless high-quality wireless music playback. The Qualcomm QCC5125 Bluetooth module used by the DMP-A8 supports SBC/AAC/aptX/aptX LL/aptX HD/LDAC codecs and is compatible with Bluetooth 5.0.

The DMP-A8 is a professional streamer system equipped with a large 6" LCD high-definition touchscreen. Rich Input and Output Ports

With its diverse talents and connections, the DMP-A8 easily integrates with just about any system. As a streaming source device, of course, it can be thought of as a digital turntable with access to a huge record collection via all its compatible streaming services and library of your own files.

The network streamer can connect with high-end decoding devices via the HDMI, USB, Optical and Coaxial digital output ports. Alternatively, as a decoder itself, the DMP-A8 connects with audio source equipment like PCs and mobile devices via the Coaxial, Optical, USB Type-B input ports, and wirelessly with APTX HD Bluetooth. As a high-performance preamplifier, it supports analog XLR/RCA inputs. Through the balanced XLR and single-ended RCA analog outputs, you can connect directly to active speakers or to a hi-fi stereo amplifier in your two-channel or multi-channel system.

HDMI-IIS Output

DMP-A8 outfits IIS (aka I2S) output, which can connect to DACs with IIS input. The mute levels of different DACs' IIS signals vary. MUTE PIN can be switched by settings. Supporting PCM 768kHz. DSD512 with the highest sampling rate.

HDMI ARC

The DMP-A8, equipped with HDMI ARC (Audio Return Channel) input, can be connected to display devices such as TVs and projectors that have HDMI ARC capability. This allows the separation and transfer of audio signals from the HDMI signal to the DMP-A8, providing the TV with a higher quality sound.

Internal High-Speed M.2 SSD Slot

Expandable with additional storage, the DMP-A8 features an M.2 NVME SSD slot built into the underside of the chassis, allowing you to integrate a solid-state drive up to 4TB without needing to open up the streamer case. Faster, stable and with no noise, SSDs are ideal for local high-quality music playback. Additionally, storage devices can be connected externally through the USB OTG port of the DMP-A8. SSD sold separately.

Dual Power Supply Design

In order to eliminate interference and noise between the system circuit and the audio circuit, and to enhance sound purity, separate designs are employed for the power supply of the system and the audio circuit. The linear power supply is composed of a multi-winding toroidal transformer, specifically designed to match the characteristics of analog audio circuits. The high-quality switching power supply is tailored to the system circuit. It significantly reduces ripple and magnetic leakage interference, providing a strong foundation for high-quality audio processing. Furthermore, it incorporates a patented smart switching technology for the linear power supply voltage input, enabling compatibility with voltages worldwide without flipping switches.

Handpicked Audio Components

The sound quality of the DMP-A8 analog output is monitor-level. The primary elements of the audio circuit are of very high quality, including WIMA capacitors from Germany, NICHCON dedicated audio capacitors, Murata chip capacitors and Omron relays from Japan, TI Audio Operational Amplifiers from the USA, etc. The goal is to provide a more authentic and pure sound performance with parts that have been proven reliable.

The DMP-A8 has been expertly tuned, and the circuit has been thoughtfully constructed, thanks to the wealth of knowledge from engineers at Eversolo who come from a background in development in the hi-fi industry. THD+N is -120 dB (0.00009%), SNR is 128 dB, and dynamic range is 128 dB. The leading indicators provide a strong base for high sound quality.

Music Library for Local Playback

Eversolo Music Library not only provides excellent local music playback performance but also an improved music management experience for you. Effective Media Management System

The DMP-A8 offers a robust media management system that enables editing operations for local hard drives and network storage like copying, copying, pasting, cutting, and deleting. The USB port can be configured as USB OTG, making it easy to connect the PC to DMP-A8 for local file management. Internal SMB sharing function allows sharing of media files from a connected mobile device or internal SSD (if installed) to other media playback devices, computers or mobile devices in the same network. This makes it possible for the DMP-A6 to be used as a network storage device to share audio sources at any time.

CD Playback and Ripping

The DMP-A8 allows for CD playback by connecting an external USB optical disc. The CD Rip app adopts a data validation mechanism and error correction function to save audio data from CD losslessly. The application's algorithm intelligently matches CD album and song names (officially released CDs are required), losslessly rips tracks and automatically generates album and artist info.

Multiple Network Protocols

DMP-A8 not only has two high-speed USB 3.0 ports, an SSD slot for local storage expansion, but also supports NFS, SMB v1/v2/v3, and UPnP sharing protocols, allowing users to browse and play multimedia content saved on NAS or network drives connected in the same LAN with gigabit network. Even high data rate DSD512 master files can be played without stuttering.

Smart Control App

Android/iPhone/iPad control apps are developed for the DMP-A8. In addition to basic playback control and system settings, they also support asynchronous viewing of music library data and menus, which is convenient for music playback and data searching. Screen mirroring is also supported by installing third-party apps.
